The Arts of Kenmore is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose goal is to encourage and promote both passive and active participation in all forms of the arts by the citizens of the area for the enrichment of the community.
What we do
Our organization encourages expanded local participation in all forms of the arts—fine arts, music, dance, theater, and public art.
Since 1998, the Arts of Kenmore has produced the annual Kenmore Art Show. Local artists have the opportunity to exhibit and sell their work. This show has grown in scope each successive year. Over 500 pieces of art were entered in the 2015 show. The Kenmore Art Show includes categories for, painting and drawing, photography, artisan works, sculpture and a special youth art category. 2016 will mark our 18th annual show. Over $7,000 in prize money has been awarded to local artists each year since 2012. Artist sold approximately $15,000 in local artist works in 2015.
Each year the Arts of Kenmore and the City of Kenmore participate 50/50 to purchase one or more works of art from the Kenmore Art Show entries to add to the city hall art collection.
The Kenmore City Hall Art Gallery is managed by the Arts of Kenmore. The gallery, provides four to five exhibits each year displaying works from local artists. One exhibit each year is dedicated to youth art. Art from this show may be purchased through the Arts of Kenmore website.
The Arts of Kenmore provides annual grant awards and stipends to Kenmore area school arts programs. Past grant awards have included items such as stage lighting, costumes, software, art supplies, musical instruments and art education excursions to venues such as the Seattle Art Museum. The grant awards are described on our school grants page.
The Arts of Kenmore also assists the Northshore PTA with its annual youth art Reflections show.
